D's Bertrando to Magali in California

Four-year-old D's Bertrando, who posted the second-highest Beyer Speed Figure for a 2-year-old in 2002, will enter stud at Rich and Gaby Sulpizio's Magali Farms near Santa Ynez, Calif. His fee is $2,000.

D's Bertrando recorded a 105 Beyer in winning at six furlongs in 1:08.49 at Golden Gate Fields in his sole triumph in three starts. He is by Bertrando and his dam, Reason to Be (by Aloma's Ruler), is a half-sister to stakes winners True and Blue and Bountiful Native.
