In four weeks since its release, the "Seabiscuit" DVD has become the top-selling live-action drama on the market, generating $15 million more in sales than it did in box office gross.
According to Universal Studios Home Video, the multiple Golden Globe nominee has generated $135 million through sales of 6.5 million copies to the home video market in its first month.
"It's an amazing achievement for a dramatic title, and we are thrilled at how well it continues to register with audiences," USHV president Craig Kornblau told
Daily Variety.
"With 17 million new DVD households last year including many 'late adopters' comprised of the broader demographic audiences that embraced the film, it was the ideal time to release 'Seabiscuit,' " Kornblau added.
