Although millionaire Skimming's first foal, a colt, was just born Jan. 7, he had actually taken a spin around the track last year.
Following her impregnation early last year, the colt's dam, Runaway Pro, was returned to training for owners Leonard and Yolanda Fishelberg. She won two races and placed in two others from five starts prior to her retirement in late June.
Bred by Leonard Fishelberg, the newborn colt was born at the Sahadi family's Cardiff Stud Farm near Atascadero, Calif., where Skimming stands. Skimming (Nureyev--Skimble, by Lyphard) won consecutive runnings of the Pacific Classic (gr. I) and earned $2.2 million.
