The Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Selected Yearling sale continued on a strong note Saturday, with a record track at the sale session which followed the Magic Millions race day at Gold Coast racetrack in Australia.
Yearlings sired by the champion ill- fated sire Danehill shared the honor of being the sale topper tonight when each brought final bids of $350,000 (about US$270,550)
Magic Millions managing director David Chester said he was "absolutely thrilled" with the night session.
"Like our first two sessions on Thursday and Friday, tonight saw more strong selling and most importantly a strong clearance rate," Chester reported. "Buyers jumped at their chance to secure a quality yearling tonight and our clearance rate climbed even higher which was just fantastic."
Late in the session the sale's most active buyer to date Graeme Rogerson snapped up a three quarter brother to stakes winning sire Springsteen (ex Lake Alexandrina), earlier on the Japonila colt sold to Gregory Pearsall for the same amount.
Other appealing yearlings to buyers tonight included youngsters by Snippets, Stravinsky, Redoute's Choice and Fasliyev.
Buyers during tonight's session included locals Gerald Ryan, Gillian Heinrich, Kelly Schweida and John Wallace, while others included Gai Waterhouse, Graeme Rogerson, Rick Hore-Lacy, Bill Mitchell, Lee Freedman and Bart Cummings.
