Martin Cherry's Wynn Dot Conma began his 3-year-old campaign on a winning note Saturday when he passed three horses in the stretch to win the $100,000 Spectacular Bid Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park.Ridden by Joe Bravo for the first time, the son of Struggler -- I Like Punch (by Two Punch) zipped six furlongs in a quick 1:10.60 to defeat Saratoga County by 1 1/4 lengths. Ghost Mountain was third. The 3-2 favorite in the seven-horse field, the winner paid $5.40, $3.20, and $2.40. Saratoga County was good for payoffs of $3.80 and $3.60 and Ghost Mountain returned $3.40.The victory was the fifth in six career starts for Wynn Dot Comma, who finished second in the Jack Price Juvenile at Calder to conclude his 2003 season. Bred in Florida by T. Wynn Jolley and Harry Highlander, Wynn Dot Comma has earned $169,535 for trainer Martin Wolfson.
