Portland Meadows has canceled Friday and Saturday racing due to unsafe weather conditions. Friday's closure marks the third consecutive day that Portland Meadows and all MEC Oregon Racing Inc. OTB's have been closed for simulcasting due to the severe weather conditions.

Freezing rain and roads covered with sheets of ice have presented treacherous driving conditions, making it unsafe for travel.

"The last thing we want to do is put our employees and our guests in a difficult situation under such dangerous conditions" said general manager Jeffrey Grady. "The safety of our employees, horses and our guests are priority one."
