Affirmed's Derby Program, Uncashed Ticket Offered on eBay

An uncashed win ticket and program from Affirmed's victory in the 1978 Kentucky Derby are being offered on the eBay auction Web site, with an opening bid of $22,000. Bidding began at mid-day Wednesday, Jan. 7, and will continue until Jan. 14.

The two pieces of memorabilia from the first leg of Affirmed's successful Triple Crown bid are still in the same frame they were put into in 1978. The seller is identified by his eBay username "tonyc1956", the listing noting the item is in Albany, N. Y.

Last month, New Orleans resident David Scheuermann said he would offer an uncashed pari-mutuel ticket from Affirmed's Belmont win on eBay, with a minimum bid of $25,000.
