Gainesway Farm stallion Broad Bush, given clean bill of health for upcoming breeding season.
Graham J. Beck's Gainesway Farm announced a clean bill of health for prominent stallion Broad Brush. Radiographs taken last week indicate the 21-year-old former leading sire has healed completely following fusion surgery in September to repair his left front fetlock. Broad Brush is back on a normal turnout schedule at the Lexington, Ky. farm and will resume breeding duties at the opening of the season for a fee of $100,000 live foal.
Broad Brush, the leading sire in 1994 when his son Concern won the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), impregnated 42 of the 47 mares (89%) from his 2003 book. "He's always been a fertile stallion," said director of sales Michael Hernon
Broad Brush (Ack Ack -- Hay Patcher, by Hoist the Flag) has sired 83 stakes winners.
