Apprentice rider Brandon Whitacre produced the first multiple win day of his career, winning three races on Friday at Laurel Park.

The grandson of former rider Jesse Davidson guided Just Calamity ($21.80 in the 1st), Flea Powder ($5.40 in the 3rd) and Senorita American ($7.20 in the 4th) to the winners' circle.

"It is the best feeling in the world," said Whitacre, who rode his first winner on November 19. "I'm taking every day like it is my last and anytime I'm on a horse I'm giving 100 percent. It is unbelievable how fast things happen in the afternoon. I have learned so much and it is amazing how fast all this has come."

The second win of the afternoon was the fifth tally for the 20-year old's career, meaning his apprentice year as a rider has officially started.
