Elloluv, second to 40-1 outsider Adoration in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 25, "is geared up and ready to go" for Saturday's $250,000 La Brea Stakes (gr. I), first leg of the three-race La Canada Series won last season by Got Koko.

Elloluv, a 3-year-old daughter of 1992 Juvenile champion Gilded Time trained by Craig Dollase, was second to Got Koko in the Lady's Secret Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita last Sept. 28. The multiple grade I-winning Kentucky-bred chestnut has a career record of 4-3-1 from 10 starts, with earnings of $1,221,475 for owner J. Paul Reddam.

A field of 11 fillies was entered for the 32nd edition of the La Brea, to be decided at seven furlongs. The starting high weight according to the conditions of the La Brea is Island Fashion under 123 pounds and jockey Kent Desormeaux.

Island Fashion, a Kentucky-bred daughter of the promising young sire Petionville, won the grade I Alabama Stakes last August and rallied for fourth, beaten less than a length, in the grassy Matriarch (Gr. I) at Hollywood Park on Nov. 30.

The La Canada Series consists of the La Brea Stakes, the $150,000 El Encino Stakes (Gr. II) at 1 1/16 miles on Jan. 19 and the $200,000 La Canada Stakes (Gr. II) at 1 1/8 miles on Feb. 8.
