Gulfstream Readies for Jan. 3 Opening

Gulfstream Park will present a realigned racing schedule during its 2004 meeting from Jan. 3 through April 25.

The first race on Saturdays and Sundays will be run at 1 p.m. with first post for all weekdays at 1:30.

Beginning March 19, the Friday programs will start at 2:45 and a concert will be presented immediately following the last race. The concerts scheduled are: March 19--STYX; April 2--Howie Mandell; and April 16--Asia.

In January, there will be live racing plus simulcasting from throughout the nation Wednesdays through Sundays and on Monday, Jan. 19. There will be simulcasting only on the other Mondays in January. Tuesdays will be dark.

Throughout February, and continuing through March 29, live racing plus simulcasting will be featured from Wednesdays through Mondays. Tuesdays will be dark.

In April, through the April 25 closing, live racing plus simulcasting will be presented Wednesdays through Sundays. Simulcasting only will be presented on Mondays. Tuesdays will be dark.
