Ballado Chieftan, a 3-year-old stakes-placed son of Saint Ballado, will enter stud at Bruce Kline and partners' Spendthrift Farm near Lexington. Ballado Chieftan won or placed in three of five starts for Leonard Riggio's My Meadowview Farm and Joseph Cornacchia this year in his sole season of racing. He was stakes-placed at Keeneland and a mile winner at Belmont Park in 1:34.63.

Ballado Chieftan is out of the Woodman mare Flaming Mirage, a half-sister to stakes winners Dancing Mirage and Light of Morn. He will stand for $3,500 as the property of Riggio and Cornacchia.
