Walter Haefner has retired his homebred grade I winner Dress To Thrill and will send the mare to Irish stallion Sadler's Wells. Dress To Thrill, winner of the 2002 Matriarch Stakes (gr. IT) at Hollywood Park, finished unplaced in defense of her title Nov. 30. She will undergo quarantine in Kentucky before making the trip to her owner's Moyglare Stud in her native Ireland.

Dress To Thrill, a 4-year-old by Danehill, was a group II winner in England and a two-time group III winner in Ireland. This year in the U.S., she captured the All Along Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT). Dress To Thrill retired with seven wins from 14 starts and earnings of $777,158.

Dress To Thrill's mating to Sadler's Wells will result in a foal inbred 2 x 4 to Northern Dancer. Northern Dancer is the sire of Sadler's Wells, and the great-grandsire of Dress To Thrill.

Dress To Thrill's dam is Irish champion and classic winner Trusted Partner (by Affirmed), and her second dam is Eclipse Award winner Talking Picture.
