Average and Median Rise at Fasig-Tipton Texas Mixed Sale

Hadette, a mare in foal to Yes It's True, brought the top price of $35,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Texas December mixed sale Sunday at Lone Star Park. Servel Ranch-Mexico purchased the 7-year-old winning daughter of Hadif from Kellie Creek Farm, agent. Produced from the winning Buckaroo mare Buckarette, Hadette is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Bucquestor (by Norquestor), who finished third in the 1998 Honeybee Stakes (gr. III).
In all, 148 horses were sold for a gross of $543,600, an average price of $3,673, and a median price of $2,100. Compared to a year ago, the number sold and gross were down 28.5% and 18.3%, respectively. But the average and median were up 14.2% and 5.0%, respectively. The figures for last year were 207 horses sold for a gross of $665,600, an average of $3,215, and a median of $2,000.
The buy-back rate fell from 27.4% last year to 21.3% this year.
