Jockey David Lopez suffered a mild concussion Sunday when he was unseated by his mount, Italian Bar Road, in the stretch run of the seventh race at Golden Gate Fields.
Lopez, 22, came off Italian Bar Road when the 4-year-old gelding jumped the tire tracks left by the starting gate in the 1-1/16th-mile race for $12,500 claimers.
Lopez, who is tied for fourth in the GGF jockey standings with 19 victories, was taken to Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley for a precautionary CAT scan.
