Apprentice jockey Alex Bisono and agent Vic Lipton celebrated after the 19-year-old rider's first Southern California victory aboard longshot Ballistic Angel in the eighth race at Hollywood Park on Friday.

"Barry Abrams (trainer and co-owner of Ballistic Angel) took us to dinner at Lawrie's and we went to the Lakers' game afterward," said Lipton Sunday.

Bisono, a native of New York, began riding in Northern California earlier this year and won five races before shifting to Southern California. The victory came aboard his 12th mount of the meet.

"He's a seven-pound bug and a natural lightweight who tacks 107," said Lipton. "He spent a year at the Puerto Rico Jockey School, which helped him a lot.

"Martin Pedroza came over to me and said he was the best bug boy he has seen here in years," added Lipton.
