(from Hollywood Park notes)Jockey Julie Krone, injured in a spill at Hollywood Park on Friday, was scheduled to travel to her home in Carlsbad Sunday and undergo further testing Monday, agent Brian Beach reported Sunday.
The Hall of Fame rider was released from Centinela Hospital in Inglewood on Saturday for another residence in Monrovia.
"She's very stiff and sore," said Beach. "She will have a CAT Scan Monday at one of the Scripps hospitals after consulting with Dr. Tom Harris (her personal orthopedic surgeon).
"Most of the pain is in her shoulder, chest and neck," said Beach of the 40-year-old rider. "It was like a whiplash injury. Her neck is stiff. Her shoulder jammed up. There is a lot of inflammation. She is very sore."
Beach said that Krone's status is day-to-day but kept his fingers crossed that she could return next weekend. The leading rider at the current meet with 23 winners entering Sunday, Krone has the call on Victory U.S.A., the probable favorite in the rich Hollywood Starlet next Sunday.
"Baffert said he is still holding the call," said Beach of Bob Baffert, trainer of Victory U.S.A.
