The likely favorites for Saturday's $200,000 Norfolk Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita put in works at the track on Monday. Street Cry went five furlongs in preparation for race. Flame Thrower and Dubai Breeze each completed six-furlong works. The one-mile race should help to sort out the West Coast contingent for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I).Undefeated Flame Thrower drilled his six furlongs in 1:11 3/5, handily. The son of Saint Ballado completed a 1/2 mile in :44 1/5 and galloped out seven furlongs in 1:22. "It looks like a two-horse race," said trainer Bob Baffert. "It's between Street Cry and him."Eoin Harty, a former Baffert assistant, will saddle a two-horse Godolphin Racing entry. Both horses worked Monday, with Street Cry zipping five furlongs in 1:00 1/5, and Dubai Breeze going six furlongs in 1:14. Street Cry has won one of three career starts and finished second in both losses, including a head-length defeat to Flame Thrower in the Del Mar Futurity (gr. II). The probable entrants for the Norfolk Stakes, according to Santa Anita, are: Dubai Breeze, Eddie Delahoussaye to ride; Flame Thrower, Victor Espinoza; Vladimir Cerin trainee Learing At Kathy, Garrett Gomez; and Street Cry, David Flores.
