Apprentice jockey Kris Prather won the riding title for Turfway Park's Holiday Meet. The 21-year-old rider won 26 races, six more than second-place William Troilo.
"I'm really happy," said Prather, who rode her first winner at Kentucky Downs in September. "I had told everybody I was going to be leading rider. I'm just glad it worked out that way."
Prather is only the second woman in the track's 41-year history to win a leading rider title, following Patricia Cooksey, who won four titles at Turfway. During the meet, Prather earned her first career stakes victory aboard Daring Pegasus in the Turfway Park Prevue Stakes and piloted Executor to a track record for 1 1/4 miles in 2:03.82.
Turfway's Winter/Spring Meet begins Monday and continues through April 5.
