TVG will present live, on-site coverage of the $1 Million Delta Jackpot, the nation's second richest race for Thoroughbred juveniles, tomorrow from Delta Downs. Post time for the race, which has drawn a field of 10, is 10:52 p.m. Chris Kotulak will be on hand to cover the action for TVG.
Contested at 1 1/16-miles on Delta Downs' six-furlong oval, the Delta Jackpot is second only to the Bessemer Trust's Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) among U.S. juvenile races in terms of purse value. Its purse has been doubled since last year's running, and the event is the richest horse race in Louisiana.
Thanks to the large purse, horses are shipping in from across the country and the field includes some strong runners, led by the undefeated Judiths Wild Rush, coming off a win in the Display Stakes at Woodbine. Trainer Bob Baffert has shipped two horses from his Southern California stable, Cooperation and Consecrate, the latter coming off a fifth place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
Also scheduled to run is double stakes winner Perfect Moon, who took the Hollywood Juvenile (gr. III) and Best Pal Stakes (gr. II) earlier this year; the Todd Pletcher-trained Tales of Glory, Joe Six Pack, Fire Slam, Mr. Jester, Rush Into Heaven and America America, the sole filly in the race.
