Plans For Running Stag Altered; To Stand in Florida
Running Stag, who will now stand in Florida rather than Kentucky.
Globe-trotting millionaire Running Stag, a son of Cozzene who was scheduled to begin his stallion career at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Kentucky near Midway, will start his career instead at Adena Springs South near Ocala, Fla. The Kentucky branch of Adena Springs already is represented by another millionaire son of Cozzene in the form of Alphabet Soup.

Seven-year-old Running Stag, who was produced from the Orsini II mare Fruhlingstag, will stand for $7,500 instead of the earlier announced fee of $10,000. The drop in stud fee reflects the Florida market.

Adena Springs also announced that 11-year-old Demaloot Demashoot will be transferred from Adena Springs South to McMaster Farm near Fenton, Mich., and that his fee has been reduced from $3,000 to $2,000. The transfer was made with the intention of helping the Michigan breeding industry. Stronach owns Great Lakes Downs in western Michigan.

Demaloot Demishoot (Bold Ruckus -- Trouble Free, by Nodouble) was Florida's leading first-crop sire by 2000 progeny earnings. He remains the property of Adena Springs.
