A half-brother to Kentucky Derby winner Charismatic, a half-brother to Preakness winner Red Bullet, and a daughter of Storm Cat purchased for $1-million as a 2-year-old were among the maiden winners in North America over the weekend.At Hollywood Park, David and Jill Heerensperger's Millennium Wind was successful in his debut as Charismatic's 2-year-old half-brother raced seven furlongs in 1:23.82 in a three-length triumph. Trained by David Hofmans, the son of Cryptoclearance produced from Bali Babe (by Drone) won by three lengths and paid $25.40 to win. Bred in Kentucky by Parrish Hill Farm, Millennium Wind was purchased by his owners for $1.2 million at the 1999 Keeneland September yearling sale. Lane's End, agent for Parrish Hill, Dr. Ben Roach, and Tom Roach, consigned the colt to the sale.In Canada, Red Bullet's half-brother Millennium Allstar found the winner's circle in his fourth career start Sunday, winning a 1 1/16-mile race at Woodbine in 1:49.32. Trained by Sue Leslie, the juvenile son of Meadowlake – Cargo (by Caro) races for a partnership that includes Don Meehan and Joseph Leslie. Bred by Stronach Stables. Tony Mattine purchased the stakes-placed colt for $45,000 from the Denali Stud consignment to last year's Keeneland September yearling sale.In another maiden test at Hollywood Park, The Thoroughbred Corporation's Satin Cat caught leader So Wistfullee late for a nose victory in a one-mile turf race Sunday. The 4-1 shot was timed in 1:35/13 as she broke her maiden in her third start for trainer Neil Drysdale. A 3-year-old daughter of Storm Cat – Mended Heart (by Le Fabuleux), Satin Cat is a half-sister to grade II winner Tropicool. Bred in Kentucky by Cypress Farms, the filly was purchased by her owner for $1-million from the consignment of Jerry Bailey Sales Agency at the 1999 Barretts Equine Ltd.'s March sale of 2-year-olds in training.
