Live racing at Laurel Park was halted after the third race Saturday due to extreme wind gusts.
The horses had already come to the paddock to be saddled for the fourth race when Maryland Jockey Club officials made the announcement canceling the remainder of the nine race card.
The first three races had been contested without serious incident, but the wind, which had been severe late in the morning, picked up again during the early afternoon, necessitating the cancellation.
A nine race card is scheduled for Sunday with a first race post time of 12:35 p.m.
