NYRA Names New Security Director

Kenneth T. Cook has been named director of security for The New York Racing Association Inc.
Cook, 53, joins NYRA after a career with the New York State Police. He most recently served as Director of Public Safety Solutions for CMA Consulting Services.
Prior to joining CMA, Cook's career with the New York State Police saw him reach the position of deputy superintendent of the Internal Affairs Bureau. After joining the New York State Police as a Trooper, he rose through the ranks as an investigator/sergeant, lieutenant then captain in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, major/troop commander, and then as staff inspector and later assistant deputy superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Cook was awarded eight "Superintendent's Commendations" during his service with the State Police as well as two certificates of appreciation from the DEA and one Deputy Superintendent's Commendation.

Cook, who begins his duties Dec. 8, is a graduate of Empire State College, State University of New York; received a Certificate of Completion from the FBI National Academy Training at the University of Virginia and also graduated from the New York State Police Academy.
Cook succeeds John Tierney, who has been reassigned to Facilities.
