Falbrav, Johar Slated to Star in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has announced their selected horses for the Hong Kong International Races. Offering approximately $7.28 million (U.S.) in purses, the four-race series will take place at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, Dec. 14.

The star of the Hong Kong Cup (HK-I) will be the globe-trotting Falbrav, a seven-time group I winner who will be making his final start. He'll likely face Ratki, winner of the Emirates Airlines Champion Stakes (Eng-I). Local hope Precision, will be back to defend his title.

In the Hong Kong Vase (HK-I), Johar, winner of the John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT) in a dead-heat with High Chaparral, figures to draw plenty of attention. Facing Johar will be Australian Fields of Omagh, winner of the Cox's Plate (Aust-I).

Ange Gabriel, winner of the Vase last year, will be looking to make it two in a row.

Silent Witness, unbeaten in Hong Kong in seven starts, figures to be one of the stars of the five-furlong Hong Kong Sprint (HK-I). Facing Silent Witness will be Grand Delight, the reigning Horse of the Year in Hong Kong
