Stakes winner Yankee Gentleman, a homebred for Martin and Pam Wygod, has been retired from racing because of a suspensory injury, according to
Daily Racing Form. A 4-year-old son of Storm Cat out of grade I winner Key Phrase (by Flying Paster), Yankee Gentleman won four of 10 starts and earned $202,547, He won his first start by 11 lengths at Gulfstream Park, and took this year's Pirate's Bounty Handicap at Del Mar by five. No decision has been reached as to where he will enter stud.
