Chris McCarron, who was the regular rider of Millennium Wind earlier this year, is back on the Triple Crown trail after being named to ride Balto Star in the Belmont Stakes. The son of Glitterman captured the Spiral Stakes and Arkansas Derby before finishing 14th in the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Todd Pletcher also will saddle Kentucky Derby runner-up Invisible Ink, who is scheduled to work at Belmont Sunday, along with Balto Star.I Love Silver, second to Point Given in the San Felipe and third in the Santa Anita Derby, will have Richard Migliore aboard for Saturday's Peter Pan Stakes. A decision regarding the Belmont Stakes will not be made until after the race. Team Valor had been hoping to line up Jerry Bailey today for their English import Dr Greenfield, but nothing will be firmed up one way or the other until tomorrow.Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos and stablemate Hero's Tribute were scheduled to arrive at Belmont this afternoon from Pimlico. Hero's Tribute will run in the Peter Pan with a bar shoe to protect a quarter crack. Regardless of how the son of Sea Hero fares, he will not go in the Belmont, trainer John Ward said. Ward also said Monarchos likely will have one work before the Belmont, possibly two.Others pointing for the third jewel of the Triple Crown are Point Given, A P Valentine, Dollar Bill, Thunder Blitz, and Buckle Down Ben. Expected to run in the Peter Pan are Hero's Tribute, E Dubai, Dayton Flyer, I Love Silver, Meetyouatthebrig, and Sirpa. E Dubai and Dayton Flyer are remote possibilities for the Belmont, but more likely will await the Dwyer.
