Ceezee Guest Dead at Age 83

Ceezee Guest, who with her late husband, Winston F.C. Guest, owned Thoroughbreds, died Saturday at her home in Old Westbury, N.Y. She was 83.

Winston Guest raced Gyr, who ran second in the Epsom Derby, and Salvo, who won the Yorkshire Cup and finished second in the Arc de Triomphe. He was a member of The Jockey Club and brother of owner/breeder Raymond Guest.

Ceezee Guest was the author of a syndicated weekly column that appeared in 350 papers. She authored books on gardening as well as a children's book.

She was well known in social circles, and her wedding to Winston Guest was at the home of Ernest Hemingway, with the author serving as best man. She appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1962 as typifying American high society.
