American Chance, Wiseman's Ferry to Empire Stud

American Chance, a 14-year-old son of Cure the Blues who ranks among the leading sires in New York this year, and multiple graded stakes winner Wiseman's Ferry will stand at Empire Stud in Hudson, New York, in 2004.

American Chance, whose progeny have earned $1,927,139 this year, will stand for $7,500. A multiple graded stakes winner who earned $847,977, American Chance previously stood at Questroyal Stud in New Hampton, New York. Among the stakes winners sired by American Chance have been graded winners Devine Wind and American Halo.

Wiseman's Ferry, a 4-year-old son of Hennessy -- Emmaus (by Silver Deputy), will stand for $5,000. Wiseman's Ferry won four of 16 starts and earned $825,266 before being retired earlier this year. After beginning his career in Ireland, Wiseman's Ferry was trained in the U.S. by Niall O'Callaghan to win the 2002 West Virginia and Lone Star Derbys, both grade II.
