One $20,000 broodmare prospect sold during Keeneland's second online auction associated with the November breeding stock sale.
Steve R. Baker bought My Glamourus Girl, an unraced 4-year-old daughter of Hawkster out of Glamour Girl, from Brandywine Farm. The filly was bred to Gold Fever. My Glamourus Girl was one of 46 horses entered in the Nov. 15 online auction for horses that failed to bring their reserve prices during the live auction. Brandywine Farm ran My Glamourus Girl through the live auction Nov. 11 and took her back at $17,000.
Keeneland will hold two more online auctions Nov. 20 and Dec. 6. The December auction is open to all horses that were withdrawn from the November sale or did not bring their reserve prices. Twenty-one broodmares and weanlings were offered in an online auction Nov. 11, but none sold.
Jim Williams, Keeneland's director of communications, said sales company officials are not discouraged by the results.
"It is a work in progress," Williams said. "It is new territory and we'll keep working on it."
Keeneland held its first online auction in September. Of 230 yearlings offered in three sessions, 13 sold for a total of $500,200 or an average price of $38,477.
