A field of eighth will go to the post for Monday's $200,000 General George Handicap (gr. II) at Laurel Park..
The likely favorite for the President's Day feature is Affirmed Success, the winner of the race in 2000. Trained by Richard Schosberg, the 8-year-old son of 1978 Triple Crown winner Affirmed has won 13 off 33 starts and has earned nearly $1.8 million. Richard Migliore will be aboard.
Two other graded winners are also entered: Lightning Paces, the winner of the Baltimore Breeders' Cup (gr. III) at Pimlico and Here's Zealous, who took the Gravesend Handicap (gr. III) at Aqueduct last month. Edgar Prado, who dominated the Maryland circuit for a decade, will be aboard Here's Zealous.
