Green Hills Farm's Voodoo Dancer, seventh in last week's Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (gr. IT) has been retired. The 5-year-old daughter of Kingmambo out of the Danzig mare Zuri is a nine-time stakes winner and earner of $1,427,952 lifetime.
Voodoo Dancer was ultra-consistent, winning graded stakes in each of the past three years, including the Diana Handicap (gr. IT) and Beverly Hills Handicap (gr. IIT) this year. Her other grade I triumph came in the 2001 Garden City Breeders' Cup Handicap. Voodoo Dancer raced coast to coast for conditioner Christophe Clement, taking 11 wins from 21 lifetime starts. She was a $200,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase in 1999, and was bred in Kentucky by the Lazy E Ranch Inc. She will be bred in the spring.
