Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) runner-up Imperial Gesture will face four rivals including stablemate Seba in Sunday's Moonshell Mile at Dubai's Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. Frankie Dettori will ride Imperial Gesture in the dirt track test for 3-year-old fillies.
Godolphin Racing's Imperial Gesture has won just one of four career starts, but the daughter of Langfuhr finished second in two grade I stakes races. Imperial Gesture is out of Honor an Offer, making her a half-sister of Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Sardula (by Storm Cat). Like Imperial Gesture, Sardula also finished second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Stablemate Seba won at first asking at Newmarket in May, then won the Chesam Stakes at Ascot in June when stretching out to seven furlongs. The daughter of Alzao--Persian Secret, by Persian Heights, was then given three months off and finished off the board in two attempts in group stakes company in September. She made her 3-year-old debut last month at Nad Al Sheba, finishing second in a 7 1/2-furlong race won by stablemate Infinite Spirit (by Maria's Mon).
Test the Rest and E.B.'s Sweep are maidens after three Nad Al Sheba starts, with the latter having last raced in Seba's 3-year-old debut, finishing fourth. Dr. Quackenbush has yet to return to the winner's circle since taking a Belmont Park claiming race in her racing debut. The Florida-bred daughter of Deposit Ticket finished a well-beaten sixth earlier this month when making her turf racing debut.
