Tom Simon's Vinery announced that successful stallion Twining will not return to the Lexington farm following the conclusion of his current stallion duties at Vinery Australia, and instead will shuttle to the Yoshida family's Shadai Stallion Station in Japan for the 2004 breeding season. Shadai has purchased a 50% interest in the son of Forty Niner.

Twelve-year-old Twining, who is standing his second season at Vinery Australia, stood at one time at East Stud in Japan, where his first foals are 2-year-olds. Twining has sired 22 stakes winners, including millionaire Two Item Limit and six 2003 stakes winners, including grade III winner Pie N Burger. Twining, who was produced from the Never Bend mare Courtly Dee, stood the 2003 season at Vinery for $10,000.
