Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes (gr. IT) and Manhattan Handicap (gr. IT) winner Manndar and Del Mar Derby (gr. IIT) winner Walkslikeaduck each worked five furlongs Wednesday at Hollywood Park.
Manndar, a 4-year-old son of Doyoun who finished eighth in the Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT), completed the distance in 1:02 while breezing over the firm turf course.
Walkslikeaduck equaled the Del Mar turf course record for 1 1/8 miles when he won the Del Mar Derby in September. Subsequently, the Patrick Gallagher-trained 3-year-old won the Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Derby (gr. IIIT) before finishing 12th in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). The son of Blushing John went five furlongs on the fast main track in 1:03, handily.
Also at Hollywood Wednesday, Dahlia Handicap (gr. IIT) winner Lady at Peace went seven furlongs on the turf in 1:27 4/5, handily. When last out, Lady at Peace finished fifth in the E.P. Taylor Stakes (Can-IT).
Meanwhile at Santa Anita, Caffe Latte, ninth in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (gr. IT), went five furlongs on the fast main track in :59 4/5, handily. Bob and Beverly Lewis' Tribunal, a 3-year-old colt by Deputy Minister and a half-brother to Chief's Crown, worked five furlongs in :59 3/5. Purely Cozzene, who set blazing fractions before fading to second place in Walklikeaduck's Del Mar Derby, completed a five-furlong drill in :59 2/5 for trainer Bob Baffert.
