Khalid Abdullah's homebred English champion Oasis Dream, the first horse to break the 1:10 mark for six furlongs over the Rowley Mile at Newmarket, will enter stud at his owner's nearby Banstead Manor Stud. His fee will be £25,000 (approximately $42,500).
Bred by Juddmonte Farms, Oasis Dream set the mark of 1:09.60 in winning last year's Shadwell Stud Middle Park Stakes (Eng-I) the year he was England's champion 2-year-old. The son of Green Desert returned to Newmarket this July and won Darley July Cup (Eng-I) in 1:09.60.
Trained by John Gosden, Oasis Dream also captured this year's Victor Chandler Nunthorpe Stakes (Eng-I) and was twice group stakes-placed. In what was his final start, he ran unplaced in the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). A half-brother to French mile classic winner Zenda, out of the Dancing Brave mare Hope, Oasis Dream retires with four wins from nine starts and earnings of $694,003.
