Keeneland's two major stepping stones to the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) will be televised nationally during the April 5-26 spring race meeting.
On April 13, the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) will be televised live on NBC from 4:30-6 p.m. EDT as part of the network's "Triple Crown Preview" coverage. The Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) will be shown on ESPN from 6-7 p.m. (EDT) on April 20. The telecast will be tape delayed.
TVG will televise Keeneland's races throughout the 16-day meeting, with extended coverage of opening weekend.
"Today at Keeneland," Keeneland's 30-minute end-of-day wrap-up show, will air in Lexington, Louisville and Northern Kentucky on Insight Cable each race night. In Lexington, it will be shown on channel 6 at 8 p.m. and in Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on channel 8. In Northern Kentucky, the show will run on channel 6 at 8 p.m. Wednesdays thru Fridays and at 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Keeneland also will offer a wrap up via satellite each race day that features the stretch call of the feature race and interviews with winning jockeys, owners, and trainers. A calendar of Keeneland's satellite replay show can be found at http://www.keeneland.com/news/pressdetail.asp?PID=958
A live call of the day's feature race will be broadcast on radio stations across the state. In Lexington, the feature will be broadcast on 630 WLAP-AM, 790 WXXA-AM in Louisville, and in Cincinnati on 1160 WBOB-AM.
Keeneland will also offer live streaming of each day's race card from its internet site at http://www.keeneland.com/liveracing/live.asp. In addition to the live streaming, fans can watch replays of previous races along with interviews.
