Aldebaran Set to Arrive Oct. 28 at Darby Dan

Aldebaran, the leading contender for a sprint championship, will arrive Oct. 28 at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington, where he will begin his stallion career for $50,000. Aldebaran closed out his career with a sixth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I).A son of Mr. Prospector out of the champion Private Account mare Chimes of Freedom, Aldebaran was first or second in 20 of 25 starts and earned $1,739,186 racing for the Niarchos family's Flaxman Holdings. A half-brother to three stakes winners, Aldebaran won this year's Metropolitan (gr. I), Forego (gr. I), and San Carlos (gr. I) Handicaps, plus a pair of grade II events. During his career, he won or placed in 17 stakes.Aldebaran will be available for viewing Friday, Oct. 31.
