Aldebaran, the leading contender for a sprint championship, will arrive Oct. 28 at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington, where he will begin his stallion career for $50,000. Aldebaran closed out his career with a sixth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I).

A son of Mr. Prospector out of the champion Private Account mare Chimes of Freedom, Aldebaran was first or second in 20 of 25 starts and earned $1,739,186 racing for the Niarchos family's Flaxman Holdings. A half-brother to three stakes winners, Aldebaran won this year's Metropolitan (gr. I), Forego (gr. I), and San Carlos (gr. I) Handicaps, plus a pair of grade II events. During his career, he won or placed in 17 stakes.

Aldebaran will be available for viewing Friday, Oct. 31.
