American Post Delivers in Racing Post Trophy Jamie Spencer put Magritte on an easy lead in the Racing Post, which drew a field of four, with American Post close from the start. Fantastic View, third early, was pushed along by jockey Pat Dobbs a quarter mile from home. The American-bred son of Distant View, bred by George Strawbridge and London Thoroughbred Services, made progress a furlong out, but could not draw even with the French-raced winner in the closing stages.Winning trainer Criquette Head-Maarek was making her first trip to Doncaster. "I don't know what we will do next year because Prince Khalid has a lot of good two-year-olds over here too, but he has never won the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas), so perhaps he might want togo for that," she told The Racing Post. |
