Tap the Admiral, a grade II winner for Pont Street Stable, was euthanized Oct. 19 because of colitus X, a bacterial infection of the intestinal tract. Trained by Del Carroll II in New York, the 5-year-old son of Pleasant Tap out of the Polish Navy mare Polish Buck won the Firecracker Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Churchill Downs in July and last ran in the Sept. 14 Atto Mile Stakes (Can-I) at Woodbine, where he ran unplaced.
