Ride the Rails, sire of 2003 sensation Candy Ride, will stand in 2004 at Tom Bachman's Pegasus Ranch near Petaluma, Calif. His fee will be $7,500.

Ride the Rails has sired eight stakes winners and a dozen stakes-placed runners while standing in Argentina. Sent there in 1995 after a U.S racing career in which he was a stakes winner and grade I stakes-placed, Ride the Rails currently stands at Haras Abolengo Farm near Buenos Aires.

Candy Ride, a champion miler in Argentina, is unbeaten in his career. His U.S. record includes a track record 1:59.11 in the 1 1/4-mile Pacific Classic Stakes (gr. I) and a score in the American Handicap (gr. II).

Ride the Rails, a 12-year-old son of Cryptoclearance out of the Herbager mare Herbalesian, won or placed in 10 of 14 starts and earned $255,096. He took the Foolish Pleasure Breeders' Cup Stakes and ran second in the What a Pleasure Stakes (gr. III) as a 2-year-old and placed in the Florida Derby (gr. I) and Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr.
