Graded stakes winner Crowd Pleaser has arrived at Northview Stallion Station near Chesapeake City, Md., where he will stand the 2001 breeding season for $3,500 live foal. Five-year-old Crowd Pleaser won nine of 24 races and earned $605,150.

A homebred for George Strawbridge Jr., Crowd Pleaser came through in a big way in the second half of his 3-year-old season in 1998. Following an allowance score at Saratoga, Crowd Pleaser captured in succession the Saranac Handicap (gr. IIIT) at the Spa; the $250,000 Virginia Derby in course-record time of 2:00.28 for 1 1/4 miles at Colonial Downs; and the $200,000 Calder Derby.

A son of A.P. Indy, Crowd Pleaser also won the Valley Forge Stakes as a 2-year-old and concluded his career with a victory in the Oct. 22 Sycamore Stakes at Keeneland. His dam, Creaking Board (by Night Shift), won the Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) and Miesque Stakes as a 2-year-old.
