Edmund A. Gann's
Peace Rules ran off after exercise rider Marco Ramirez came out of the stirrups and then turned in a bullet workout at Hollywood Park on Monday.
Trainer Bobby Frankel said the 3-year-old son of Jules -- Hold to Fashion, by Hold Your Peace was loose for about 50 yards before being caught. "He's fine," Frankel said and the colt went on to prove him right, breezing a half-mile in :47 1/5, fastest time of the day among the 26 horses working the distance. Although cross-entered in the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I), Peace Rules is being pointed toward the Mile (gr. IT).
Also working for Frankel were Sprint (gr. I) contenders
Aldebaran and
Midas Eyes. Working from the gate, Edmund A. Gann's Midas Eyes worked a half-mile in :47 2/5, according to Frankel, although the clockers timed the work in :48 1/5. Flaxman Holdings' Aldebaran was clocked in :47 3/5 for four furlongs.
Two Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) contenders worked at Hollywood Park Monday for trainer John Shirreffs. George Kirkorian's
Hollywood Story worked five furlongs in :58 4/5, fastest time of the day among 28 horses, and
