Trainer Bob Baffert said Monday morning that Stonerside Stable's Congaree emerged from Sunday's workout in good shape and appears to have no problems associated with a minor quarter crack of his left rear hoof.

"He came out of the work in great shape<" baffert="" said.="" "it's="" (hoof)="" good="" today="" and="" he="" is="" sound="" on="" it.="" the="" patch="" (over="" the="" crack)="" is="" fine.="" there="" no="" seepage="" or="">

A 5-year-old son of Arazi -- Mari's Sheba (by Mari's Book), Congaree breezed six furlongs

As a result of the quarter crack, Baffert pre-entered Congaree in both the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I) and the breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) as a precaution. Baffert said later that Congaree would only run in the Classic if the quarter crack healed satisfactorily.
