John Ertmann, president and chief operating officer of Equibase, left the company this week after tendering his resignation, a spokesperson for The Jockey Club said.
Ertmann joined Equibase, a racing database administered by The Jockey Club and Thoroughbred Racing Associations, in April 2002. He replaced The Jockey Club president Alan Marzelli, who had managed Equibase on a part-time basis beginning in 1996.
Ertmann is an attorney who previously served in executive capacities with NBC Sports and Major League Soccer.
