Bob Baffert has pre-entered Congaree in both the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) and Sprint (gr. I) as a precaution after the colt came down with a minor quarter crack on his hind foot. Baffert said he should be fine in a couple of days.

"He's had one before and was fine, it's not a big deal," Baffert said. "We caught it right away and began soaking it. We pre-entered him in both races as insurance in case we miss too much time with him. We tack-walked him this morning, and he should return to the track tomorrow. I'm hoping to work him on Friday. This horse has had everything in his career, he's tough. He should be fine."

Congaree last raced in the Kentucky Cup Classic (gr. II), in which he finished second to Perfect Drift.
