Two winners of stakes races at Churchill Downs this season headline Friday's feature at Keeneland the Perryville Stakes. Danthebluegrassman, winner of the Northern Dancer Stakes in June, and Sky Terrace, winner of the Derby Trial Stakes (gr. III) in May, are both slated to carry 123 pounds in the $75,000 seven-furlong Perryville Stakes. The race is named after a Civil War battle which took place in Perryville, Ky., about 40 miles southwest of Lexington.
Bob Baffert trains Danthebluegrassman for Mike Pegram, as well as another Perryville entrant, Ecstatic, who races for The Thoroughbred Corporation. The colt was a $400,000 purchase as a 2-year-old and placed third in this last start, the Kentucky Cup Sprint Stakes (gr. III).
Brice Blanc, who is aboard Halo's Tiger, has recently moved his tack from California to Kentucky. Agent Steve Bass will handle his book.
