Members of the Mr. Greeley syndicate and Spendthrift Farm have purchased a 50% interest in the breeding rights to top 2-year-old Whywhywhy. A son of Mr. Greeley, Whywhywhy has won three of his four starts, including the grade I Futurity Stakes at Belmont Park, and is one of the probable favorites for Saturday's Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I). His sire stands at Spendthrift near Lexington where his 2002 fee was $25,000.Trainer Patrick Biancone, who owns the colt with Fabien Ouaki, said the transaction would not affect the ownership of the colt for the remainder of his racing career. Biancone said the new owners were represented by Bruce Kline, the majority partner in Spendthrift. Biancone did not disclose terms of the deal.
