Minister Eric, prepping for the $1.5 million Bessemer Trust Juvenile, and The Tin Man, a candidate for the $2 million John Deere Turf, each worked Friday morning for Richard Mandella.

Minister Eric worked seven furlongs under Alex Solis in company with Middleweight. Each was clocked in 1:25 3/5. The Tin Man went in company with Polygreen. The Tin Man was given 1:52 1/5 for 1 1/8 miles, while Polygreen, who broke off after a mile, went that distance in 1:43.

"The Tin Man actually went a mile and a quarter in 2:05," Mandella said. "He worked very well."

The Hall of Fame trainer, who could have as many as six Breeders' Cup starters, said he timed Minister Eric in 1:26, galloping out a mile in 1:39 and change. "The works were very good on everybody."
